WOKFUNK

WOKFUNK is a duo consisting of session players, Benjamin Mah (Astronauts, Disco Hue) on bass, and Billy Chua (Disco Hue, Astronauts) on drums. Yes, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. What initially started as “helping a brother’s band out” led to their quirky videos on Instagram, and soon became a gateway into the local music scene as “the rhythm section for hire”. 

The pair met in 2017, when Benjamin had Billy play drums for his band for a gig. Weeks later, the reverse happened, and during that interaction they both realised their love for creating content. One can expect to see quirky takes on radio hits, with a comedic twist. By creating content around songs, WOKFUNK soon garnered the attention of local musicians. WOKFUNK has collectively worked for artists such as the Astronauts, Disco Hue, Ffion, YAØ and Mars, and look forward to the opportunity to work with many more bands in the future.
